My clients entrusted me with doing a decor upgrade to their beautiful classic family home. It needed some TLC and a new look and to breathe life into a second lounge that wasn't being utilised. All the various living spaces flowed from one into the other so I felt the theme and colours needed to all work together from the dining space to the lounge to the adjoining patio and new bar area.They wanted to sand down their wooden floors and re seal them so this gave rise to the opportunity to "grey wash " the yellow tone out of the wooden floors which was a great success and resulted in a beautiful pale taupe shade that looked amazing with all the rest of the decor to come. New wall shades were used with darker tones applied in alcoves and on feature walls. New furniture, carpets and curtains were installed . Their existing dining tables were given a sand and a grey paint wash to enhance the wood grain and new chairs put around to finish off their dining spaces. A custom made cocktail bar was built with a gorgeous stone top and bespoke bar stools made in a bronze metallic fabric with studded details. New feature pendant lights hang over the bar counter in an antique copper finish . Cabinetry was made for on either side of a fireplace and the lovely arched mirrors added. A Wonderful project to work on with wonderful clients .
After Transformation
Grey washed wooden floors and stone coloured walls form the background to this lovely Cape home. A palette of rich Ochre, Khaki , Blues and Teals were used in this design scheme. Aged metallics in copper are seen in the Pendants, the upholstery studs, the repainted wrought iron chandelier ,the bespoke bar stools and the owners antique handles on their mahogany wall unit behind the bar. We used the same palette of colours for all the areas but with different prints and patterns to create a cohesive thread and feel throughout the house so each area flowed seamlessly into the other.The carpet in the lounge compliments the colour scheme beautifully. The Patio was a lovely addition to the pool area and custom cushions in palm prints and stripes are the finishing touches.
